- Order and listing information — VIN numbers, vehicle details, photos you upload, order history
- Location data at account signup, and attached to photos submitted with a yard or seller listing, used to verify that listing photos were taken at the registered business address
- Device information at account signup (device type and approximate location), used to detect signs of fraudulent account activity
Why we collect location and device data: OEMtronic operates a marketplace where sellers list high-value parts (engines and transmissions) that buyers purchase sight-unseen. Verifying that listing photos and account signups match a seller's stated business location is a core fraud-prevention control — it helps confirm that a listed part is real, at the location claimed, and that an account isn't being used to impersonate a legitimate business. This data is used for this purpose and is not sold to third parties.
How we use this information
- To process orders, warranty claims, and payouts
- To verify seller listings and detect location or device mismatches that may indicate fraud
- To communicate with you about your order, account, or a request you've made
- To improve our certification and fraud-detection systems
What we don't do
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your location or device data publicly — certification badges and ratings shown to other users reflect performance metrics only, never raw location or device details.
Who can see what
Buyers never see a yard or seller's exact identity or contact information — only a certification badge and performance rating. Sellers never see a buyer's device or location data. This information is used internally by OEMtronic for verification purposes only.
Data retention
Account and order information is retained as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with our legal and warranty obligations. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us at the address below.
