The HEMI and Pentastar cover most of what moves here, and both have specific known failure points worth understanding before you buy used. Enter your VIN and we'll confirm the unit and flag what to check.

More RAM / Dodge orders go wrong on donor history than on fitment. Three things matter more than they do on most makes:
| HEMI MDS lifter failure | The Multi-Displacement System lifters on 5.7L HEMIs are a known failure point, and a failed lifter can damage the camshaft. Donor mileage and service history matter. We flag what is known and will tell you when a unit is not worth taking. |
| 2011–2013 Pentastar cylinder head | Early 3.6L Pentastars had a documented left-bank cylinder head fault causing misfire. Later builds and replacement heads resolved it. The VIN tells us which build you are getting. |
| RWD vs 4WD transmission | RAM transmission housings and output shafts differ between two-wheel and four-wheel drive. A correct engine with the wrong transmission still does not fit. |
Every RAM / Dodge unit we sell carries OEMtronic's own 90-day warranty — issued and paid by us, not the yard that supplied it. If a fitment issue is ours, we resolve it; you don't chase a salvage yard in another state.
Send us the VIN and a parts specialist will confirm the exact engine family and what's available before you commit to anything.
